Stewed sausage with brown sauce is one of my favorite comfort foods. It's simple to make and can be tailored to your own tastes.

Ingredients: 1 pound sausage, preferably a link type 1 onion, diced 1 green pepper, diced 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste 3 cups beef broth 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley 1 teaspoon garlic powder salt and pepper to taste Instructions:

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat, sauté onions and peppers in olive oil until softened. Add sausage and cook until browned.
  2. Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, parsley, garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes. Serve over cooked pasta or mashed potatoes.

This recipe is perfect for a quick and easy weeknight meal!

-1 lb ground beef

-1 onion, diced

-1 green pepper, diced

-1 can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed

-1 can black beans, drained and rinsed

-1 can corn, drained

-1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained

-1 packet taco seasoning mix

Instructions:

  1. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat.2. Add the ground beef and onions, cooking until browned.3. Drain any excess fat and add the green pepper, kidney beans, black beans, corn, tomatoes with green chilies, and taco seasoning mix.4. Stir until everything is evenly mixed and heated through.5. Serve on tortillas or in a bowl, topped with your favorite toppings (sour cream, cheese, etc.). Enjoy!

-1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

-1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

-1 teaspoon smoked paprika

-1 teaspoon garlic powder

-1/4 teaspoon onion powder Instructions: 1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder and onion powder. 2. Add cooked sausage to the saucepan and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, or until heated through. 3. Serve over cooked rice or pasta. Enjoy!

1 small onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed tomato soup, undiluted

1 teaspoon chili powder 1 teaspoon smoked paprika> ½ teaspoon cumin> ¼ teaspoon salt> ¼ teaspoon black pepper 2 cups beef broth> 1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni pasta> 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese> 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley leaves> Instructions:1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the beef, onion, and green pepper until the meat is browned and vegetables are tender.2. Add the garlic, black beans, diced tomatoes with their juice, tomato soup, chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.3. Stir in the pasta and continue cooking until the pasta is tender.4. Stir in the cheese and parsley just before serving.5. Serve warm with crackers or breadsticks.

-1 lb. bulk sausage -1 onion, diced -2 cloves garlic, minced -14 oz. can diced tomatoes -8 oz. can tomato sauce -4 oz. can diced green chilies -1 tsp. chili powder -1 tsp. cumin -1 tsp. salt -1/2 tsp. black pepper -1 cup chicken broth -2 Tbsp. brown sugar -1/2 cup white wine vinegar -3 Tbsp. cornstarch -3 Tbsp. water Instructions:

1) In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage, onion, and garlic until sausage is no longer pink and onions are softened. Drain off any excess grease. 2) Add in the tomatoes, tomato sauce, green chilies, chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, chicken broth and brown sugar. Stir well to combine. 3) Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes. 4) In a small bowl whisk together white wine vinegar and cornstarch until cornstarch is fully dissolved. Add this mixture to the skillet and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until sauce has thickened up slightly.
